the hotel is dying on its feet, they have not spent any money on the infrastructure. from black stains in bathroom roof, toast machines not working so there is a long wait, ran out of orange juce, no coffoe mugs etc. etc.

Suitable location for my business requirements

The standard of food was very poor as was the service at the bar. No draught beers and overpriced sub standard wine

Loved the fact that you can get a smoking room! Also you would expect the smoking room to be of a lesser standard but no, it was wonderful. A big thumbs up for the Britannia group for catering to smokers - thank you!

After booking (took it because it had a pool for the kids and was cheap) I read the reviews and thought, Oh, No what have I done! The fact is, it was not bad. There was only one person at the desk when we arrived and she had to deal with really annoying customers but I would say the hotel is understaffed (which is not her fault) and should have one more person at the desk. Apart from that, we were upgraded to a larger room at no extra charge; the beds were comfortable; rooms were very clean and the kids loved the pool (small but heated and had floatation devices). All in all, it is a 3 star for a reason; I think a lot of people expect to pay next to nothing and have 5 star facilities; you got to be realistic!

Think they should have another person at the desk during weekends and evening duty, should also have a bell to ring as receptionist was not always at the desk. Once she was gone for a good ten minutes because she had to take food and wine up to a room. I was waiting to ask a question, there was a delivery for food and two people were waiting to check-in, not a good reception! With the exception of this all was fine.

          sauna, price

beds not made well, food was extremely slow and barstaff were unhelpfull

The room was lovely. Nice bathroom, good tea & coffee making facilities. Very quiet and nicely decorated. Comfortable and restful.

TV stations were very very poor - not much choice and reception extremely bad. The room had an adjoining room with strangers, which obviously I hadn't requested(!). Thankfully, they were quiet and didn't cause any disturbance but it could have gone either way... Although, I requested and showed up ontime for the 7am shuttle bus to the airport, they'd left without me and I almost missed my flight by having to wait half an hour to the next one. Hugely stressful. There are no facilities to print boarding passes, this should definitely be addressed, as I had to depend on the willingness and helpfulness of the staff to assist in sorting something out for me - again, this could have gone either way.

The mattress had insufficent padding so the springs could be felt through it and it gave little support, The Millers restaurant was disappointing with a buffet left out on the first night and on the second night the smoked haddock pasta contained almost a a flake of haddock.

        • Older travelers
          9.2

The location was good, easy to find.

Hotel was great, pity that we did not get to sleep until after 5.00am as there were people running up and down the corridors and banging doors (not the hotels fault)

I tried to get room service, and first night I paid 11.50 for a ham sandwich and 2 yoghurts as the gas had been turned off and the chef was not cooking (depsite advertising 24 hour room service) Had to wait 1.5 hours to get this as well. 2nd night I asked for room service to be told there was none, and the guy hung up the phone!

I liked it because of the proximity to airport and shuttle service was made available to guest travelling.

The heating system was horrible,I did not like the fact that they were rotating the heating because i had a baby who was cold till they turned up the heater, terrible experience for me compared to other hotels.

Room 117 Bathroom was mouldy, room had dry rot on skirting board, the bathroom sink was cracked in several places and mouldy. The hotel is out of town so we had to use the restaraunt! this was buffet style it was like eating reheated rubber. Breakfast was no better and at £11.50 very expensive.the reason I used this hotel was because I stayed there 18months ago When meals were cooked to order breakfast was also cooked to order. The room was worn but clean. I have stayed in Aberdeen since 11th Jan 2010 and this is the first time I have had to say anything about any hotel I have stayed at.

Would definately stay again. Lovely staff. Good location.

The heating system in room was not good. It was a large room and we had the radiator full on and it was very cold. It would be worse in January/February time.
